Founder of the SAOS Orchestra Academy
In 2005, Andreas Steiner founded the Salzburg Orchestra Soloists, a soloist ensemble consisting of internationally sought-after orchestra musicians. Since 2013 this ensemble has been a regular feature of the Salzburg Festival in the chamber opera field, in which the Salzburg Orchestra Soloists have made an international name for themselves during the course of their existence. Andreas Steiner has been an orchestral player since 1996, holds a position at the Mozarteum Orchestra and frequently participates in soloistic and chamber music projects; furthermore he is in demand as a substitute at various leading international orchestras. Therefore, he is constantly expanding his musical horizons and was and is able to work with renowned conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Pierre Boulez, Kirill Petrenko, Franz Welser-Möst, Claudio Abbado and numerous other outstanding artists of all genres.
In founding the SAOS Orchestra Academy, Andreas Steiner wishes to offer young musicians practically oriented and well-structured input for their professional training.
